Applications for 2024 Scholarships open March 18! This year there are 19 scholarships being offered to CHS graduating seniors - some will be awarded to more than one applicant.

  • General Fund - EVERY senior should apply for this scholarship. We do our best to ensure that every worthy applicant receives a scholarship! Requires a 2.0 GPA (4.0 scale), for individuals who plan to attend a 2-year technical/trade/vocation school or a 2 or 4 year college or university and a short (500 word) essay.
  • Ryan Bullerdick Memorial Scholarship - Awarded annually to one student who is pursuing a career in business or entrepreneurship at a higher education institution. Special consideration given to students who will attend Indiana University - Bloomington.
  • David Elsrod Memorial Scholarship - Awarded annually to one or more graduating seniors who have participated for at least two years with the CHS Football Team. 500 word essay required.
  • Michelle Alexander Memorial Scholarship - Awarded annually to one or more graduating seniors who have shown courage in the face of difficulty and adversity, and persevered in challenging situations. A strong work ethic and a willingness to do more than what is asked should be demonstrated. Special consideration given to students who participated in track and/or swimming. 500 word essay required.
  • Don Kehoe Memorial Scholarship - Awarded annually to one or more students who exhibit leadership, character, extra-curricular activity participation, community service, school spirit, GPA and financial need. 500 word essay required.
  • Scott Abernathy Memorial Scholarship - Awarded annually to a graduating CHS student who exhibits good work ethic and character, and who has participated in athletics and community service. Special consideration given to a graduating CHS wrestler.
  • James I. Howell Scholarship - Awarded annually to one male and one female CHS graduating senior. Based on scholarship, work ethic, character, athletics and school activity participation.
  • Trey Kidwell Memorial Scholarship - Awarded annually to one or more students who were current members of the CHS Swimming & Diving Team, who had participated with the team for at least two years, held a GPA of 9.0 (12.0 scale), and are well-respected members of the community. 500 word essay required.
  • Class of 1957 Scholarship - Awarded annually to one student who holds a GPA of at least 3.0 (4.0 scale).
  • Centerville Emergency Services Scholarship - Awarded annually to one CHS graduate who is pursuing a career in emergency medical services, law enforcement, fire services, criminal justice/criminology, and/or public safety.
  • Liam Duncil Memorial Scholarship - Awarded to one or more graduating CHS seniors based on required essay.
  • Bulldog Future Educator Scholarship - Awarded annually to one or more graduating CHS seniors who desire to pursue a career in teaching. Minimum of 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale) or 9.0 GPA (12.0 scale) who will be pursuing a career in the education field. 500 word essay required.
  • Dan McCurdy Memorial Scholarship - Awarded to a graduate planning to attend an accredited institution of higher learning (college/university/institute) with a focus on art. Minimum of 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale). Student must submit an essay and an art portfolio or one featured project/artwork. Artwork to be judged by an independent panel of three local art instructors (current or retired).
  • Richard L. Bohlander Scholarship For Teaching Education - Awarded to a graduating CHS senior who will be pursuing a career in teaching. Minimum of 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale) or 9.0 GPA (12.0 scale). Candidates should have a strong moral character, relate well with others from all backgrounds, display honesty in dealing with others, be innovative and creative, compassionate and an encourager. Additionally, they should have good speaking and writing skills, be involved in the community, have participated in at least two or more extra-curricular activities and have a church affiliation and involvement (i.e., youth group, music, teaching). 500 word essay required.
  • Emma Grace Ulm Memorial Scholarship - Awarded to a graduating CHS senior who has achieved academically and been involved in sports. No particular sport required and involvement can have been as a player, coach, manager, etc. Essay required.
  • Joe Lake Memorial Scholarship - Awarded to a graduating CHS senior who has achieved academically (GPA - 3.25 or higher) and been a varsity member of the Cross Country, Track or Basketball team. 500 word essay required.
